Ever since I first heard the word 'boy' in the ultrasounds for all three kids I've been dreaming of the day when I could take them to soccer and t-ball. I couldn't wait to be the parent kicked back in the lawn chair enjoying the game and cheering on the kids. I was hoping some of my competitive nature and love of sports would rub off on them. It turns out I still have some waiting to do. Jack is doing pretty well at t-ball. This was the second week. There's quite a crowd for his games and he gets a bit intimidated. When he hits the ball he likes to stand back and admire the shot...don't we all. He forgets to run to first base.
Once on base he posed and waved, oblivious to the fact that the next person was batting and he needed to run. For some reason it looks like Jack is all by himself in this picture. There were literally about 75 people at this game.

At the same time as Jack's game is going on, across the field the twins are playing soccer. I was so pumped watching them practice. This first video they appear to be getting the hang of it.
Okay, so a little out of order. Here they are posing with their new soccer shorts, socks, and shin guards. No cleats until they show they will actually play.
....and here's how the game really turned out. The tall boy is a 'helper'. He's trying to do his best to get the boys to pay attention. You'll see how well that's working.
I told the coach to split the boys up. Luke ended up actually getting the hang of it. He ran full tilt zooming around the field, only he ran next to the ball the whole time instead of trying to kick it. Logan on the otherhand pouted and crossed his arms refusing to budge. He was mad he wasn't getting a turn to kick the ball. I tried explaining that if he wanted to kick the ball he had to go get it. That made him more mad. Hopefully by next week, week 3, he'll start to join in like Luke did and I'll have some videos to prove that this hasn't been a total waste of time :)
