Some people just can’t handle Vegas….we slept in a bit after the crazy night. We ate breakfast at a restaurant in the hotel. On our way back to the elevators to our rooms we were pushed to the side by running, frantic police officers, ems, and hotel security going into the elevators. Their radios were squawking about what was ‘discovered’ in a room on the floor below us….pretty sure someone died based on the amount of other officers showing up. We got our things as quickly as we could and headed out. We’re still laughing about everything that went on last night😂 We headed for San Diego and Pat’s house in Alpine. Brad lived with Pat when he was in San Diego. Pat is Brads godmother and close family friend. The entire trip we paid only $4.40-$4.60 a gallon for gas. At the end of Arizona it went to $5.05…still cheaper than when we left Michigan. Our first stop in California was $6.89😳 Not complaining…way better off than we thought we’d be. We got held up several times in traffic so it took much longer…the boys are about to mutiny. We all need this break from long days of driving. We got to Pat’s hilltop ranch and were able to relax and catch up. What an amazing view here! The sunset was incredible! I’m including a couple pics. This will be home base until Wednesday morning. Thinking tomorrow will be the zoo….

First of all I want to say, "Wait What? (and I'm not a "Wait What" person) - You have a blog? How did I miss this over all of the years? : ) Your first day in Alpine might be going to "The" zoo, but from the sounds of it, it seems as though you just escaped from one! Good job getting out of Dodge (Vegas). Glad you've got the whole family together now for a bit! It's fun to hear about your excursions and see the pictures...
PS-I'll have to peak back through some of your past entries...I did see one from 2008 when we all went camping together. Fun!
